Joseph Squier is a distinguished artist and professor emeritus renowned for his contributions to digital art and new media. His innovative work has earned him fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rockefeller Foundation. Squier has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, LA Times, and numerous books on electronic art.   At the University of Illinois, he was recognized as both a University Scholar and a Distinguished Teacher, reflecting his excellence in academia and commitment to education, and he was appointed as the inaugural Anthony J. Petullo Professor of Art & Deign. Squier’s art often explores the intersection of technology, art, and society, making him a pivotal figure in his field.
